Section Chief, Health Services, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

Chris Meyer is currently the Section Chief, Health Services at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), where he oversees and manages the complete health program for all core series personnel within the Continental United States and all overseas locations.

Previous positions: 

2015-2024: Director, Health and Medical Readiness Program at CNA.

2013-2015:  Associate Director, Health Benefits for the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission (MCRMC).

2010-2013: Director, Budget Analysis for Defense Health: Cost Assessment & Program Evaluation in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer of the TRICARE Management Activity (Defense Health Agency). 

1989-2010: United States Navy: Navy Hospital Corps and Medical Service Corps

Chris holds a Master of Science from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Haven, and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Colorado, Boulder. His career in the United States Navy included overseas stations in Yokosuka, Japan, deployments to Kuwait and Iraq with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Guantanamo Bay Cuba in support of Joint Task Force 170. He completed his last six years of Navy service in the Pentagon in numerous operations research and analytic positions. His military personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various other unit and campaign awards to include the Presidential Unit Citation.
