Jeff Broughton is a Senior Defense Analyst at the RAND Corporation, focusing on defense planning and strategy development and security cooperation. His current research focuses primarily on logistics, acquisition and contracting, and security cooperation. Prior to RAND, he retired as a U.S. Army colonel with extensive experience at the strategic level in the areas of logistics and weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Key positions included serving as the operations officer in the senior OIF logistics command, logistics battalion commander, and Military Police Command deputy chief of staff for logistics.
