Trish Young, recently retired as a Senior Executive with 37 years in the Department of the Air Force and DOD. She culminated her career as the Executive Director, HQ Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), senior civilian advising the Commander on senior leader personnel matters of 86 executives in the command, union matters on 36,000 bargaining employees in the American Federation Government Employees, oversight of command budget of $60 billion annually and oversaw command workforce of 90,000 people. Prior to her six years at AFMC, she served as the Director, Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), a Department of Defense (DOD) Field Activity, providing administrative and management support to multiple DOD components and military departments in the National Capital Region and beyond. Responsible for a $3 billion budget and workforce of 2,300 people, providing a wide range of essential administrative and management services in support of DOD operations, thus allowing WHS customers and offices to focus exclusively on their core military missions. Trish served as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics, Installations and Mission Support (AF/A4) for six years, managing integration and execution of Air Force logistics readiness, Civil Engineering, Security Forces, aircraft, and missile maintenance. Portfolio of $24 billion annually. She also served as President of the Military Board of Corrections for two years during this time. Her previous positions include Deputy to the Commander, Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command - Army Component of the U.S. Transportation Command, and two positions at the U.S. Transportation Command - Deputy Director for Strategies, Plans and Policy, and Deputy Director, Logistics and Business Operations, Operations and Logistics Directorate. Her career spans 20 years of experience in transportation and logistics at combatant command, Major Command and Headquarters. Trish has an M.A. in business and industrial counseling and B.A. in communications from Wright State University. Trish’s leadership was recognized with Distinguished and Meritorious Presidential Rank Awards, Air Force Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award, OSD Exceptional Civilian Service Award, Army Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
