Jonathan Skinner

Dr. Jonathan Skinner is a research professor in economics at Dartmouth College and a professor at the Geisel School of Medicine’s Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. He is currently director of the Economics of Aging Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and a member of the National Academy of Medicine. He has conducted research on regional variation in health care utilization and health outcomes, the diffusion of new medical technology, and racial and ethnic inequities in healthcare. Skinner received a Ph.D. in economics from UCLA and a B.A. in economics and political science from the University of Rochester. He has also taught at the University of Virginia, and Stanford and Harvard Universities.
