From the report: “This report documents findings and recommendations from a RAND Project AIR FORCE study focused on improving the civilian hiring process for the 96th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base. The report documents the development of detailed process maps that outline the steps in the various phases of the 96th Test Wing’s civilian hiring process, key barriers to timely and effective hiring, and potential best practices used by other organizations for streamlining the civilian hiring process. The report concludes by providing recommendations for improving the 96th Test Wing’s civilian hiring process.
The research reported here was commissioned by Brig Gen Jeffrey T. Geraghty, commander of the 96th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, and conducted within the Workforce, Development, and Health Program of RAND Project AIR FORCE as part of a fiscal year 2024 project, “An Analysis of the Department of the Air Force Hiring Process.””
