From the executive summary: “The implementation of the Blended Retirement System (BRS), following passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2016 (FY16), is a success story that will provide a significant financial benefit to the over 800,000 members of the Uniformed Services who are now covered by the system, and to millions more who will benefit in the future. BRS expanded Government-provided retirement benefits to a much-larger percentage of the Force while also serving as the catalyst for launching a comprehensive financial readiness program for members of the Armed Forces.”
